I fell 10 feet out of an attic today and landed on hard concrete today. Pretty much landed on my ass. The cheek where my

et goes is sore as all can be. I have a nice gash on the inside of my arm near my arm pit. Left shin hurts like all hell and there is a small cut there (think it was skinned up on the 2x12 rafter). The inside of my hands between my thumbs and wrist hurt alittle. I am walking with a limp and afraid to take a shower and start to relax.
I have never fallen out of an attic in my 26 years of living and 9 years of doing my work. Thank goodness no one was under me and nothing sharp there as well. One of my helpers was supposed to have nailed EVERY WALK BOARD DOWN. He didn't and he cut one barely big enough to make contact on the 2 rafters that it was suppose to span. Needless to say, with my weight and it moving I came crashing down.. I ended up working the rest of the day. A little slower, but stayed busy. Job has to be completed by the first of the year and by golly I am not going to stop that from happening.
I normally don't post these kind of things. BUT I know that there are other construction workers and foremen here. Just a word of the wise. TRUST NO ONE and NOTHING. Shit happens when you least likely expect it and as long as nothing broke and you are perfectly able to move around (slow is not an excuse) is to get back to work. Get checked out if you feel that you are severly injured.
The GC on my job understands that shit happens and thank goodness no backcharge will be dealt. lol The sheetrock is not actual ceiling height. A dropped ceiling with be 12" below the sheetrock. The way I look at it is that glad I am not majorly hurt and I didn't take anyone out with me and that I had to go back to work as I am fortunate that I have been getting 40+ hours a week for the last 3 months and am not slowing down. Don't want someone else to take my job.
Sorry. Back to the regular scheduled program.
