I reread your post and fossil is the politically correct term for coal or oil fired plants.

I am a mechanic "technician". I have been doing it for over 10 years now. Love it some days and wish I had stayed in the military others.lol

I am a full time student and graduate in December. When the company I worked for took my job to Mexico I went on state program that gives me a check each week, pays for my school and all I have to do is show up and pass the classes. I hope to start working for one of the school districts around here as a Computer Tech/Network Administrator.

Dont know where that video was from, but it was floating around email at work, and eventually turned up on youtube. If you get a good high resolution video of that and watch it in slow motion,im not to sure if ppe would have helped him or not. Was told he was fried beyond recgnition, but do not know that to be a fact. Heck, only been a couple of years that we wore anything more than a nomex jacket, gloves, and a face shield while racking 4.16KV, 7.2KV, 13.8 ... any of it. Most of the 480 deion breakers we wore nothing and believe it or not they are the worst as far as calories of energy of an arc flash (due to the protection circuitry draw mega amps before tripping the feeder). I would not have wanted to be in front of that bomb suit or not. Oh and Sweet little ride ya got there overdriv.

Thanks for the comments on the truck. It's a hoot to drive.

I agree about not wanting to be there regardless of what is worn. Our company has told us if we don't wear the blast/arc suits they provide, that basically, if we are caught not wearing it, or if we live through it, they will fire us. That guy didn't have a chance, at least with a suit he might not have gotten burned as badly.

I work at a Classic Muscle Car Restoration Parts Distributor, "THE PADDOCK" Knightstown ,IN

Im kinda their tech go to guy, what interchanges and what fits what, also I help locate and advise on new products that are or will be availible. Yep I still do retail sales, call me if you have any questions or want parts for your muscle car.

Been there 6 years, before I started there, they actually considered and had a rough draft done of a S10 parts catalog ,but it never came to life. :(
